Two Homicides in SoMa, and Another Shooting in Bayview
On Tuesday at 5:14 a.m., a 19-year-old man was shot on 6th Street and Mission. Police received a report of gunfire around the area of 6th and Minna. However, no arrests have been made. The victim was driven to SF General Hospital where he was treated and died.
Later that same day, police responded to a shooting at 3rd and Newcomb in the Bayview. An 80-year-old woman suffered injuries when gunshots shattered her apartment window. According to police reports, she was taken to SF General and she’s in stable condition. A few blocks away, a vehicle police believe was involved in the shooting, crashed twice into other cars on Thomas and Lane streets as well as 3rd and Revere streets. The occupants of this vehicle fled on foot, but were later detained by police.
Also on Tuesday, at 11:05 p.m., police received a report of gunfire on 6th Street and Mission, where they located a 25-year-old man on the sidewalk with gunshot wounds to the upper body. The victim was administered first aid and taken to SF General. The man passed away in the emergency room.
Robbery with Force
Early Wednesday, at 2:30 a.m., a 30-year-old woman approached another woman walking on Mission and 29th streets and took the victim’s purse and cell phone. The suspect then attempted to flee in her own car but the victim broke the car’s window in an attempt to stop the suspect. They then got into a physical altercation and the suspect ended up speeding off northbound on Mission Street. No arrests have been made. The victim was treated for abrasions on her hands and back.
