A man was killed a few blocks from Balboa Park BART around 4 p.m. yesterday, and police are still looking for the gunman.

Police responded to a call on Mission Street near Brazil Avenue, finding a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The suspect, who fled on foot, is described only as a male, which doesn’t give us a lot to go on, but anyone who may have witnessed the incident is encouraged to call SFPD’s anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or via text message to TIP411 with “SFPD” in the message.

  1. I heard that the suspect went right up to the victim feet away from the 14 and 49 bus inbound stop. Bystanders were so terrified that many left their entire grocery bags. I suspect many people got a clear view of the suspect but have declined to make a declaration. Also, Balboa Park Station is about a mile away from this intersection not blocks (like 10 blocks away).
