We received the message below today from the Department of Public Works.
In a nutshell, extended work hours on Cesar Chavez this week will affect the west bound lanes between Hampshire and Harrison.
Good morning,
DPW would like to inform you that our contractor (NTK Construction, Inc.) will be working extended hours this week. Crews are making preparations to begin the repaving stage of construction. However, prior to repaving crews will need to replace any damaged sections of concrete street base. The street base is located underneath the asphalt roadway. During the extended work hours crews will saw-cut sections of the roadway, remove the damaged concrete, and pour back new street base. The extended work hours will affect the Westbound lanes between Hampshire and Harrison. Please see below or visit our website for more details. Thank you.

Wish they would give bicyclists some damn space during construction! Tired of being squeezed while navigating all kinds of debris, plus being honked at, buzzed, and almost right-hooked by impatient motorists.
