An estimated 1,000 people marched through the city in support of immigrant and worker rights on Wednesday for May Day, or International Workers’ Day.
The San Francisco nonprofit Community United Against Violence helped organize the march to Civic Center, starting at the 24th and Mission Street BART plaza Wednesday afternoon.
Photographers Francisco Barradas and Megan Fitz documented the day’s events.
Pretty sure that partcipation estimate came from the organizers of the march since there was nowhere close to 1000 people walking down Mission Street.
