It’s 7 a.m. and 55º, headed to 65º. It’s going to be a little cloudier than yesterday but beautiful nonetheless.

The Mission’s Salvation Army branch has expanded to include a multipurpose room for after-school and youth programs, as well as new basketball courts and new room for the senior programs, the Chronicle reports. The Salvation Army, which has been on Valencia for almost 90 years, had an official opening for its new center on Tuesday.

It looks like the Mission is getting ready to welcome a mini golf course. SF Eater reports that Urban Putt will be housed on 22nd and South Van Ness. Steve Fox, former CNET and PC World editor, is spearheading the project, which could be complete by 2014.

Get your walking shoes ready for the first Walk to Work day this Friday. Everyone is encouraged to walk at least part of their commute to work and share their photos and other experiences using the #Walk2Work hash tag. This is the first Walk to Work Day in the nation, and one of the perks includes 10 percent off of all coffee drinks purchased at Philz Coffee.
