A woman was robbed at 20th and Valencia streets Thursday at about 8:30 a.m. The victim had her cell phone in her hand when a suspect, described as a man in his 20s, came up from behind and hit her in the head with an unknown object.

The victim turned around and the suspect snatched her cell phone from her hand, ran eastbound on 20th Street, then southbound on Lexington Street.

The victim saw the suspect flee in a silver vehicle.

A man threatened a woman with a knife and then smashed through a window and barricaded himself inside a building at Market and Dolores streets at around 10:30 a.m. on Thursday.

After negotiations with police, the suspect surrendered and was taken into custody.
