This city doesn’t wait long after Thanksgiving to begin celebrating Christmas. The official lighting of the Great Tree, San Francisco’s most recognized Christmas tree, takes place tonight at 6 p.m. in Union Square. Festivities include live music from Chris Mann and a special performance by Shelby Miguel, a 17-year-old Make-A-Wish ambassador.

This year’s 83-foot reusable tree will be covered in 33,000 energy-efficient LED lights. Details about the event can be found here.
