Lali Ghlonti, a native of Tbilisi, Georgia, came to San Francisco eight years ago and decided to pursue her passion to become a cook.

“Have you had Georgian food before?” she asked me. Not only have I never had Georgian food, I have no idea what it looks or tastes like.

“Yeah, because there’s no Georgian food in the city!” she said with a big smile.

This Saturday, Ghlonti will participate in the San Francisco Street Food Festival for the first time, and she is excited by the opportunity to share her native cuisine.
