A 23-year-old woman suffered lacerations to her head after she was attacked by four suspects early Wednesday on Mission Street near 16th Street.
Police said that the woman was walking when she was attacked by four suspects, described as three women and one man in their 20s. During the attack, the victim was struck in the head with an unknown object, according to police.
The suspects snatched the victim’s purse and fled in a tan sedan.
The incident happened at about 2 a.m. on Wednesday. The victim was taken to the hospital.
You could always go to the Mission Station meetings and voice your concerns. The more who do, the more chance something might change?

No it did not used to be “just one” (what a strange claim). Groups of people have been mugging single people all over the world as long as there have been people in the world. San Francisco included. Just because you never heard about it before doesn’t mean it never happened. And believe it or not, but the Mission used to be even worse in the 80s and 90s…meaning this type of thing actually used to happen more, not less.
Things were much worse indeed! You took your LIFE into your own hands by even venturing into certain parts of the Mission after dark. Best bet is to comply and hand over your $ and smartphones, resist and you may have more on your hands than is worth it.
Deeply disturbs me to read that groups of 3 or 4 are now out mugging people. It used to be just 1. Is there ANYTHING we can do to make the police DO something?
Well you can be sure if you use a firearm to protect yourself the cops will be there in 30 seconds to arrest your ass.
too bad San Francisco only issues carry permits to politicians and rich people.
Please ladies and gentlemen Don’t walk alone at night in the Mission. IT IS NOT SAFE. The police are not doing anything about it.The violence is ramping up. I had a Mission officer tell me to move out of Mission. He said he would never live here. It’s like cowboys and indians. They arrest one group and ten more move in.
People from all over bay area come here to commit crimes because our police force sucks .

I’ve called the cops several times for crime on my street (san carlos and 20th) and they’ve never taken less than 90 mins to arrive.
I’ve lived all over the world and never felt like the police were useless and unsupportive. Mission cops…. wake up and pull your fingers out. We need you.
Too many other incidents to deal with, not enough resources. The gentrified areas of SF are a candy store for the thugs who live right next door.
