The Federal Emergency Management Agency, or FEMA, filmed inside La Taqueria today, using a local crew of filmmakers and an L.A.-based production company.
The footage will be part of an upcoming FEMA public service announcement encouraging earthquake preparedness. According to production supervisor Jim Maguire, the scene inside La Taqueria will be juxtaposed with other scenes from around the Bay Area, such as street level in downtown San Francisco and an office building in Oakland.
FEMA is trying to send the message that “an earthquake can happen anywhere, any day,” Maguire said.
