The Planning Commission approved an Argentinian restaurant and microbrewery for the corner of 18th and Church streets on Thursday afternoon.
Cerverceria de MateVeza is the project of Jim Woods, who is already getting some buzz about his brews. The new establishment is expected to open this spring, according to the company’s website.
The only opposition on file with the Planning Department was from a neighbor who was concerned about the establishment’s proximity to Mission High School. She did not speak at the meeting, and the project was approved.
The 650-square-foot restaurant will be a bit small. It will have three employees and will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
