Good morning, Mission. It is 7:24 and 54°, going toward 63°. Expect rain.

Today the Ninth U.S. Court of Appeals will decide whether or not to uphold a ruling that struck down Prop. 8, the voter-approved ban on same-sex marriage.

Per Bay City News:

Tuesday’s decision will not be the last stop in the case. The three-judge panel’s ruling can be appealed to an expanded 11-judge panel of the appeals court and then to the U.S. Supreme Court.

The appeals court will also rule Tuesday on a second issue of whether Walker should have stepped down from hearing the case because he is gay and is in a long-term relationship.

Another court case we are following is the Edwin Ramos trial. He is accused of killing three members of the Bologna family in the Excelsior District. His brother-in-law Abraham Martinez testified yesterday that Ramos changed cliques because the Mission-based clique was not violent enough, according to Bay City News:

“He said 20th Street wasn’t doing anything,” Martinez said, adding that he took that to mean “we aren’t doing any dirt.”
