San Francisco police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect in connection with two sexual assaults that took place on 24th Street in November, most recently early Thursday at 24th and Fair Oaks streets.

Authorities say that both victims were attacked by a suspect described as a black man in his mid-30s, 5’9″ to 6′ tall, with a medium build. He was seen wearing a black hoodie and dark pants.

The attacks took place between 3 and 6:30 a.m. Both victims were attacked from behind. Police say that in both cases, a struggle ensued and the victims were sexually assaulted and robbed of their belongings. The suspect then fled on foot in an unknown direction.

According to the Fair Oaks Community Coalition, on Thursday SFPD “cordoned off the northwest corner [of Fair Oaks] during their investigation, and the fire department was later called to wash blood from the sidewalk.”

Police have classified these attacks as “very violent crimes,” and urge anyone with information to come forward. You can reach the Mission police station by e-mail at, on Twitter @sfpd_mission or by phone at 415-392-2623.

  1. I got this information via email on Wednesday night with the notation that the police were staking out the area uncover as not to scare him off to another area. Seemed wrong not to notify the neighborhood sooner. Word is that necks are being “snapped” – yes, that violent.(cannot verify this detail tho) Pass the word, especially in spanish. The Megan’s Law sex predator mapping shows a number of violent sex felons in the area.

  2. Hey Mission Local! Is there a Spanish language version of this police report? I feel like a lot of the service industry workers who are up and around that early are Latino and I would feel better if I could forward that around to them as well. Could you release something like that to post?

    1. Hi Linda, We’ll translate this article in Spanish and publish it as soon as it’s ready. Thanks.

  3. Dude in his 30s robbing and raping people – very significant chance he has been arrested before. Amazing to me there would not be DNA in the system – in fact very unlikely…unless someone is not doing their job…

    1. Also, significant chance this guy is from public housing or commuting in. Robbing folks is not enough cash flow to pay your own way in SF…
