Friends and neighbors of the victims of  the 24th Street fire will host a fundraiser on Tuesday, Dec. 27.

The fire on the morning of Dec. 1 at 3356 24th St., at Barlett, left two in critical condition. Shaun Moore, one of the event organizer and a friend of one of the victims, Robert Strawder, said that all proceeds will go to the Strawder family.

Strawder was severely burned and taken to the burn center at St. Francis Memorial Hospital.

“Robert is going to be in the hospital between 2 to 3 months and will have a long recovery road ahead of him afterwards,” Moore wrote in an e-mail. “As friends and family we ask that you give any amount you can to make Rob’s transition back as easy as possible.”
