Happy Monday! It’s 7:30 a.m. and 52° F. The high is expected to be 67° F. Here’s more.

The San Francisco Chronicle looks at the city’s old movie theaters, including the Mission’s Granada Theater, which is now a Goodwill:

While the vast majority of San Francisco cinemas that thrived between the 1920s and 1960s are closed or demolished, movie palace historian Jack Tillmany says the situation could be much worse.

The Castro Theatre still shows movies. And the Orpheum, Golden Gate and Warfield theaters have been repurposed as live theater and concert halls.

“We’ve done a lot better than other large cities,” Tillmany says. “Some big cities have nothing.”

How far do you go for your pets? More and more Bay Area residents organize lavish parties for theirs. The San Francisco Examiner reports:

Peters is among a growing number of pet owners who are looking to show their animals how much they truly care by throwing a party in their honor.

How and why parties for dogs are held differ depending on the owner. Some include cakes and decorations, while others have food specifically for humans and specifically for dogs. Some throw the party in a park and others host at home. Peters said he plans on getting invitations and making it a themed party.
