Your Wednesday in the Mission: Muggings, muggings and more muggings. But more arrests than usual….
Crime started early, at 12:45 a.m. A 27-year-old man was walking past the intersection of Capp and 25th streets when a teenage boy ran by him, grabbed his phone out of his hand, and continued running.
The man gave chase, at which point he was attacked by two other teenagers, sustaining minor injuries.
The man called the police, who retrieved all three suspects and the phone. Because the three were all 17 years old, they were booked as juveniles.
A few hours later, at 2:25 a.m., a 54-year-old woman walking near 16th and Mission was approached from behind by a woman of unknown age. The suspect grabbed the victim’s sweater, yanked it over her head, punched her, hit her with some kind of hard object, grabbed her purse and ran. The victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital, where her injuries were determined to be non-life-threatening.
Later that night, at 11:06 p.m., a 38-year-old man was walking down Capp near 19th Street when he was approached by two men in their mid-20s, one holding a black handgun.
One of the suspects threw an unknown powder into the victim’s eyes and knocked him to the ground. Both went through his pockets, took his wallet and cell phone, and ran to a car driven by a third man — a ’90s-vintage green four-door.
Three minutes later, at 11:09, a 21-year-old man was approached at 18th and Castro by two men in their late teens. One of them punched the victim and the other grabbed his wallet and ran. Both men were caught by police and the wallet was recovered.

if you’re walking around the neighborhood after dark, especially by yourself, don’t have your phone out. it’s pretty simple.
