At around 7 this morning, a bicycle headed east on 17th collided with a vehicle heading north on South Van Ness. According to Officer Albie Esparza, a spokesman for the police department, the bicycle went over the windshield and the cyclist was taken to San Francisco General Hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

There is a traffic light at that intersection, but the matter of which party happened to be running the light at the time is still under investigation.

  1. Per your headline: For the second time in maybe 2 weeks I’ve corrected the same issue. South of Market Street, Van Ness turns into South Van Ness. You’re local media, please learn the neighborhood.

If writing an headline about East Palo Alto, you wouldn’t refer to it as Palo Alto, would you?
