Happy Mealers in San Francisco are looking at their last year of scooping toys from those bright red McDonald’s boxes.

Under a new policy to curb childhood obesity, approved Tuesday by the Board of Supervisors, the world’s largest fast-food chain will only be allowed to pair toys with meals that meet certain health standards. Currently, Happy Meals don’t.

The policy takes effect in December 2011.

McDonald’s has two outlets in the Mission, on Mission Street at 16th and 24th streets.
