A man was shot in the hand – as his daughter looked on – by a suspect who tried to rob him of his gold chain with encrusted diamonds, according to San Francisco Police.
The victim put his hands up and told the suspect, “You are not going to shoot me in front of my daughter,” according to Mike, who heard the men arguing in front of his driveway.
The victim took a swipe at the suspect identified as Ariel Morales, 30, from the East Bay. At that point Morales, pulled the trigger and shot the man in the hand.
Morales then snatched the chain and ran northeast on Tiffany Avenue, according to SFPD spokesman Samson Chan.
The victim ran in an unknown direction holding his 13-year-old daughters hand, said Esperanza Zavala, the owner of the nearby International Club. His wound was treated by an EMT on call nearby.
The suspect was then arrested on a crosswalk on the corner of 26th and Valencia streets, according to Stephanie Crebo, a bartender at the Dovre Club.
Morales was booked for robbery, attempted homicide and aggravated assault.
Morales had an accomplice, who acted as a lookout and is still at large, according to Chan.

I am so sorry that your daughter was a witness to this. Peaceful thoughts I send to her. So sorry she was scared like that. You can buy more jewelry, but you cannot by a new ‘you’ or a new daughter. Be safe out there.
I would be interested to know if they came to the city to commit crime for any particular reason .
I would be interested to know if they came to the city to commit crime for any particular reason, or if it was just an opportunity to be had?
Once again I must say! This person had no regard of personal safety for nor me or MY daughter! I just hope he is given enough time in jail to think about his actions! My daughter still has problems sleeping and issues with going outside.
He needs to be Locked away and the Key thrown Away for Good!!! In front of a child. No Morals and doesnt belong in this society. Lock him in a cage with a bowl of water and some crackers.
I am the victim and I do wish he goes away for life! My daughter didnt deserve to witness this crime!
It would be interesting to get a followup on this story. More than likely, Kamala Harris, our do-nothing DA, will let him walk with a slap on the wrist. Obviously it’s been done in the past since he’s already had several serious convictions and is still out and about endangering more SF citizens. Why is that, Kamala?
