The gift handmade with care slows down the holiday rush. A ribboned bag filled with the flavorful friction of  pepitas con chile. The coarse equanimity of a naked wreath. A paper mache swan nearing end of flight, neck curved, feet arched and calloused. A knitted prospect, a stocking stuffer, a t-shirt of mounting four-letter words: “tint, fart, tart, date, hope….” Crocheted snowflakes that fall on nose and eyelashes, hot chocolate that leaves tongue burns and whipped cream mustaches, and since we’ve no place to go, let it flow, let it flow, yes let it flow.
