Southern Exposure’s Youth Advisory Board’s fall collaborative project, Snapshot, explores photography’s fact and fiction: the event itself and the document that follows. Snapshot is an experimental moving picture conceived, photographed and produced by YAB youth artists and YAB teaching artist Lizzy Brooks.

Snapshot calls into question the photographic medium’s promise to capture a moment, a memory, or a truth. The project’s images will move from the literal to the fantastic, as students play with modes of representation through the photographic medium and explore methods of digital manipulation.
