“Pearls,” the new photography exhibition by Maja Pilipovic, is an erotic mystery. It is erotic because it shows skin yet leaves something to the imagination. And it is a mystery because the artist, Maja, still refuses to answer the question of whether or not this is a collection of self portraits. Her only response is, “I had a beautiful model.”
Maja Pilipovic began studying photography at an early age. Her ability to observe what others might overlook mixed with her skills honed at the Academy of Fine Ar ts in Begium and later City College of San Francisco have culminated in this recent collection of unexpected beauty. Maja says she likes photography because when she sees the image, she can remember how she felt in that moment.
“Pearls” will happen in conjunction with MAPP (Mission Arts Performance Project) at Secret-Studios for a night full of art and music. There will also be a boudoir photo booth hosted by Clare Coppel and Secret-Studios. Please join us for this wonderful event and please wear your pearls! See you there!
