The “Festival of Harps: Next Generation”is a concert featuring three emerging young harpists who each offer a unique take on the instrument. Amelia Romano and Misha Khalikulov perform world and original music on electric lever harp and cello, exploring modes, time signatures and improvisation to create a sound uniquely their own. Harpist and vocalist Liza Wallace will share the percussive sounds and melodic and rhythmic sensibilities of Latin and Jazz music. Classical harpist Sage Po performs selections ranging from the intricate Baroque dances of Antoine Francisque to the lush romanticism of Gabriel Faure. The Festival is a benefit to provide Latino children with access to harp lessons through the Multicultural Music Fellowship.
