Camille Holvoet’s artwork is an expression of food, love, and memory; and sometimes, the anxiety that longing for a delicious meal can provoke. An artist of decadent and specific tastes, Holvoet presents work of unexpected color and depth of feeling which transforms the iconic foods of celebration (cake, pie, ice cream, hot dogs, French fries) into mythical objects of beauty. Her work is confessional, revealing personal desire with a risky surrender to imagination that is ultimately hopeful and always joyous.
