Beginning, Friday, December 7th at the Women’s Building, children from ages 2-5 years old can learn important literacy skills using iPads.
The mission of Blast Off To Learning is to close the literacy gap in young children living in the Mission, by providing access to educational hand-held devices.
Young children intuitively know how to use iPads and iPods, so we provide a one hour a week session, where young children can explore literacy Apps and games, as well as have fun with music, puppets, and craft activities.
It is important that these new skills are integrated into the family home, so we require a guardian (mother, father, nanny) to also attend the session with the child.
Currently, we have one session per week, but as registrations are high, we are looking to expand to 3 sessions per week in 2013.
Any parent with a child ages 2-5, is welcome to join us.
