Following an outcry from neighbors and business owners, the San Francisco Municipal Transportation agency decided to roll back its first attempt to expand metered parking in the Northeast Mission.

But this week, the agency once again started a community planning process to expand metered parking and residential permit restrictions in the area. The agency is testing the public’s openness to a plan that would manage parking in the area around a parking lot at 17th and Folsom streets that is set to close and be converted into a park.
