A 65-year-old man was punched in the back of the head and robbed at 8:15 p.m. on Thursday at Julian Avenue and 15th Street.

Two men in their 20s approached the man and punched him. The victim fell to the ground and the two suspects went through his pockets and took his wallet, police said.

The victim suffered cuts to the head and was taken to the hospital.

Police responded to reports of a garbage-can fire at 24th Street and South Van Ness Avenue shortly before 1 a.m. on Friday, and firefighters extinguished flames in two city garbage cans.

Two suspects, described as a man and a woman between the ages of 18 and 22, fled the scene on foot.

A man was awakened at 1:50 a.m. on Friday when the alarm in his home, on Liberty Street near Church, was tripped. He opened his bedroom door and encountered a suspect described as between the ages of 18 and 22, police said.

The suspect took the victim’s cell phone from his hand and fled out the door.

In an unrelated incident, a 31-year-old man was robbed with force at Dolores Park at 3:45 a.m. on Friday.

One suspect, described as 45 years old, grabbed the man by the shirt and held him while the other suspect took his wallet.

After a brief struggle, both suspects fled.

    1. What happened to the SFPD foot patrols? Haven’t seen them much esp. When comparing 2011 to 2012. Maybe they only work 9am to 3pm?
