Police report that officers near Stevenson and Duboce streets observed a fire at the SoMa West skatepark at 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday. They also saw a man walking away from the area. The man proceeded to light a Christmas tree and an A-frame on fire a few blocks away, prompting another police unit to respond to the scene and arrest one Jesse Driggs, a 42-year-old San Francisco resident. Firefighters also responded to put the fires out.
Driggs was booked on charges of arson and possession of narcotics paraphernalia.

On Monday, Dec. 28 at around 7 a.m., a 30-year-old woman was walking near Market and 15th streets with her wallet in her hand when she noticed two men, estimated to be between the ages of 18 and 25, following her. The woman tried to turn around and face the men, but one of the men told her not to move. He then grabbed her wallet from her hands and fled on Market street.
A 70-year-old resident of 22nd Street near San Bruno Avenue was awakened around 4 a.m. on Tuesday by his dogs barking. When he went to investigate, he saw a nondescript suspect exiting his front door. No losses were reported, and the victim later determined that the would-be burglar entered the home through a garage window.
