    Gould’s photos are disappointing. They mostly could have been taken anywhere as they are essentially photos of mobs of generic people, and not the specific views,architecture and skyscapes that we associate with the Mission. In fact, they didn’t speak to me of the Mission any more than any other urban area in the nation.

    His overt ideological overlay was also irksome. I prefer my art to come without a picket line and a lecture.
