Volunteers for Charity at Dore Alley

Folsom Street Fair events are kicking off this July 27th with Up Your Alley, also known as Dore Alley. The fetish and BDSM festivity is one of the biggest in the world—and they take size very seriously. Dore Alley is kind of the foreplay to the main Folsom Street Fair event, which occurs in September.

The leather events provide a safe space for people interested in the fetishist lifestyle. While lots of people get whipped, and worse, the event is also a community one, with booths for nonprofits, neighborhood groups, and charities. One of those charities is PAWS, an organization that helps low-income seniors and people with illnesses enjoy therapeutic time with pet companions.

PAWS is looking for 10 volunteers to sign up for their booth at Up Your Alley. They have several shifts from 5:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Volunteers will help with gates, security, treasury, exhibitors and the volunteer tent and receive free snacks and beverages, access to private restrooms, coat and bag check…plus, views of some truly unforgettable sights.

If you want to sign up, you’ll have to attend an orientation meeting on Thursday July 17 from 7-9 p.m. or Saturday the 19th from 1-3 p.m. at the Metropolitan Community Church on 150 Eureka Street. More info here.
