In more unfortunate news from Pride Weekend, a member of San Francisco’s beloved drag order, the Sisters of the Perpetual Indulgence, was attacked during Pink Saturday.

According to the community group Stop the Violence, a group of seven strangers verbally and physically assaulted the Sister (pictured above) and her husband. The group is seeking information from anyone in the community who might have information about the incident. Here’s a post from their Facebook page:

Sister in habit & husband assaulted during Pink Saturday. Police seek witnesses – photographs – video.

During Pink Saturday a Sister in white face and habit who was working the event on behalf of the community, and her husband, were physically and verbally assaulted by a group of up to seven people at the intersection of Castro Street & 18th Street.

Both received some injuries and are naturally very shaken by the whole incident, but fortunately neither required hospitalization.

If you witnessed this incident, or if you have photographs or video of the incident, please contact Mission Police Station. We want to work with investigators to assist them in identifying the suspects and bringing them to justice.
