It’s 7 a.m. and 62° now and expected to rise to 70°. Details for the next 10 days are here.

In case you need another long explainer about affordable housing and the issues of creating more…here’s one from Matt Yglesias at Vox.

The Bold Italic published a moving photo essay of various residents of SROs around the city a few days ago. Made me think of this story we did a few years ago about a family living in one Mission SRO.

With this handy rundown of Phono del Sol, it’s like you were there.

Beards of the Mission, take note: your latest styling obsession. You’re welcome.

Enjoy the day! Send tips to missionlocalATgmail.com.

I don’t really buy the “exclusionary zoning” line. It’s a little too precious and self-serving. But the Vox’s article calling for up-zoning the city resonates with many.

Quite simply NIMBYism and affordable housing are contradictory forces, and sadly for many, the NIMBYs are winning.
