When we first reported in March on the new gastropub at the old site of Charanga, it looked as if it would be called Carsons — after one of the owner’s dogs. Now, it’s clearly Gas Head.

The new owners are Ed Sargent and Roger Howell, who own Murio’s together.

As we reported earlier, “The menu will include mussels, bangers and chips, pickled eggs, mushrooms on toast and game hen sliders. It is being developed by Matthew Nudelman, who owned Greenburger’s on Haight Street.”

It looks like it has at least a few weeks to go before opening night.

So is this particular establishment *not* contributing to gentrification of the Mission corridor?

Better sharpen the pitchforks and rally the mission extortionists to hurry up and make their demands!
