Police reported that at 7:25 p.m. a fight in Dolores Park ended after one person got stabbed in the torso.
The victim was transported to San Francisco General Hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.
Robert Brust, of Dolores Park Works, said he saw the police responding, but had no details. Almost five police vehicles and some fire department vehicles were on hand. “The park was very crowded,” he wrote in an email, and there was lots of trash. “Lots of peeing in the streets. But it seemed mellow enough.”
Employees at Dolores Park Cafe and Faye’s Video and Espresso Bar said they didn’t see the incident but did notice police cars and ambulance at the park around 8 p.m. A Dolores Park employee said the altercation took place at the top of the park near the bridge.
“It happened around 7 p.m.,” she said. “Afterward there were police in the park. The guy went to the hospital and is apparently OK, but that’s all I know.”
She also said that a police officer was circling the park on motorcycle this morning.
Police gave no information on the suspect and the case is under investigation.
