Recap: (Updated) Suspect Trips Woman and Gets a Cell Phone

A young suspect in his 20s tripped a 40-year-old woman walking at 1 a.m. Tuesday on Folsom St. near 20th Street.

The victim fell and the suspect snatched her phone and fled on foot. No arrests have been made.

Earlier police reported:

The two suspects — one woman, one man in their mid-20s — walked into a store Monday afternoon on the 2400 block of Mission Street near 21st Street, according to police.

The male suspect stole a wallet and a 54-year-old woman at the store approached him. He pulled out a knife and the victim fled the store.

No arrests were made.

    For the last few days at least, it seems that every one of these incidents you report happens between midnight and 5am.

    As well as mapping these incidents by location, it might be useful to map them by time of day or night.

    If the trend is as observed, then most problems can maybe be avoided simply by not walking the streets in the dead of night. Sound advice anyway?
