Kink at the Armory has been fined $80,000 for unsafe practices, writes the San Francisco Chronicle. 

Kink.com spokesman Michael Stabile says many performers prefer not to use condoms and that the fine is part of a long-running campaign by those who oppose the porn industry. READ MORE

Meanwhile the California Budget Project released a new report on poverty finding that 16 percent of the state’s residents live in poverty.  Some 22 percent of the state’s children live in poverty.

7 p.m. on MAPP or the Mission Arts and Performance Projects Saturday night when different venues and private homes open for music and art.  The festivities start earlier at the Red Poppy Art House for families and you can generally get a list of other venues there.  If you haven’t been – it is one of nights that makes the Mission special.  We will post the schedule as soon as we get it.
