Two Guns, One Smartphone

A 45-year-old man was waiting for a bus at 2:30 a.m. Friday at 18th and Mission streets when a car pulled up with three men between the ages of 20 and 35, according to police. They did not offer him a ride.

Instead, two of the passengers got out of the car and pointed handguns — yes, they appeared to have needed two for this heist — at the suspect, police report. The suspects then took the victim’s smartphone, cash, a money order and his ring.

The suspects fled east on 18th Street in their getaway car. No arrests have been made.

Crime is trauma and the county offers different services. Here is a link to a page of services.

Victims of violent crime can contact the Trauma Recover Center at UCSF.

BTW, notice that many of these phone jacking incidents take place late at night? Moral of the story, don’t wonder the mission at 2am! Hello, common sense!
