San Francisco public defenders held their felony trial wins at 62 percent for the second year in a row, according to the recently released 2013 annual report. Wins include acquittals, hung juries, dismissals, or plea bargains mid-trial. Although the success rate for the last two years is high — it’s down nine percent from 2011 when 71 percent of felony trials were won by public defenders, according to the 2011 annual report.
