It’s 7 a.m.! Yay? Keep your eyes peeled for the sunrise in another 24 minutes. Until then it’s a brisk 45° with temperatures rising to 63° on this partly cloudy day. It’s going to get a little crisp for the next couple of days, not expected to pass 60° until Friday. See for yourself here and check out the weekend forecast too.
You may consider yourself a law abiding citizen — but it turns out San Francisco has some silly regulations that can be very easy to break. For example, it turns out it is illegal to keep anything but a car in your garage. That’s right people — those boxes you moved in with, your bike, your tools? Who knew you were such a rebel? Until now. Today Supervisor Mark Farrell will move to get rid of that piece of city code — but he also wants to check the books for other such rules. He’s hoping, with help from the community, to fix some of these overlooked, outdated, weird laws by creating www.sanfranciscocode.org where citizens can weigh in on old policies or suggest new ones. Learn more about Farrell’s plan on SF Gate.
Because we know there is a shortage of restaurants and divine foodstuffs in this city — not. Actually just because it sounds kind of fun — you may want to check out SoMa StrEat Food Park, if you haven’t been yet. Don’t worry, it’s not that deep. The park is only a couple blocks from Rainbow Grocery and boasts different food trucks every day — apparently 90 of them rotate in and out. Read more about the place and where it sprang from on SF Gate.
Uptown Almanac posted some street art, or depending on how you see it, vandalism, that went up in our fine neighborhood over the last week. My personal favorite? The new little mural outside Beauty Bar on 19th and Mission. See it, along with other recent “property damage” here.
