Since 2010, San Francisco photographer Shawn Clover has been working on a striking series of then and now composite photos of the 1906 San Francisco earthquake. To create the series, Clover collected archival photos of the earthquake’s aftermath. He then replicated the photos himself, down to the location, camera position and focal length (to the best of his estimation). The resulting composite photos hauntingly combine stark images of the earthquake’s devastation with modern scenes of life in San Francisco.  SEE ALL THE PHOTOS at PIXTALE.

  1. I don’t know whether it’s just me or if everyone else encountering issues with
your website. It appears like some of the written text on your
posts are running off the screen. Can someone else please provide feedback and
let me know if this is happening to them as well?
This may be a issue with my web browser because I’ve had this happen previously.
    Thanks
