It’s 7:15 a.m. and 47º, headed to 76º. The sun continues to shine. Today will be even warmer than yesterday.
Yesterday was packed with activities in the streets, including the Cesar E. Chavez parade and festival and a protest against the eviction of San Franciscans living with HIV/AIDS. “Out of the bakery and into the streets,” a large group of protesters yelled as they marched down 18th Street and approached Tartine (see photo above, and find out more here.)
The San Francisco Board of Supervisors named 2013 the Year of the Child in the city. According to the 2010 census, only 13.5 percent of San Francisco residents are younger than 18, the smallest percentage of children in any city in the country. “We need to do more to make this city family-friendly,” said Supervisor Eric Mar. “I think we’re not doing enough.” The Chronicle reports.
