The Chronicle reports that most BART delays are caused by mechanical breakdowns on the aging trains. BART data requested by the Chronicle revealed that most trains with delays of 15 minutes or more between Nov. 1, 2011, and Oct. 31, 2012, stalled due to mechanical problems.

A skateboarding and dog park might be coming to the neighborhood as early as May, reports the Examiner. The city will lease a vacant lot under the central freeway at Valencia and Duboce from Caltrans. If construction begins as planned, the new park could be ready by the end of the year.

Bi-Rite Market has opened another shop in the city. The new location, on Divisadero, opened yesterday to a long line of shoppers.
