    Everyone buy mace and pepper spray. Kinda goes without saying not to wander around texting at 2am.

    Now that the mission is “so hip”, I see people who are here for dinner, drinks, whatever..standing on side streets in the dark texting with all their technology out…you will see an uptick in these crimes as these people are fairly careless.

    @PC
    The crazy thing is that it’s not 2am. Only one of these crimes were after 12am.

    People who are not from San Francisco (before 1989) need to wake up. The Mission has ALWAYS been a dangerous place for privileged sleepwalkers and nowadays people are totally out of touch with where they actually are- the Mission. All these fancy restaurants and dress shops for rich clueless 20-somethings do NOT mean that the worst recession in our history is over for everyone else or the fact that 2 extremely dangerous Mexican gangs are just a couple of blocks over from all the wealth. If this latest plague of corporate locusts don’t wake up the locals will wake you up for you are rich and asleep and they are wide awake and want your stuff.

      Shroudwoman,

      The two gang’s in the Mission: the Nortenos and Surenos are very rich. They demand protection money from Spanish speaking merchants, sell drugs and other illegal money making activities.

    Like I said before: make the penalty for assault 20 years and the penalty for robbery 20 years, and watch how fast all that bull stops! Get tougher on crime! Jumping and Robbin people can become fatal real quick, no time for games!
