A 49ers fan on 20th and Mission streets.

Hundreds of fans took to the streets shortly after the San Francisco 49ers defeated the Atlanta Falcons 28-24 on Sunday afternoon.

The celebrations in the Mission appeared peaceful, compared to how fans celebrated the Giants’ World Series victory. Police did make 12 arrests, however.

From the police department:

Total of 12 arrests:

1 driving under the influence
1 warrant arrest
1 assault with a deadly weapon
9 drunk in public

The 49ers will face off against the Baltimore Ravens on Feb. 3 in New Orleans. The game will have special significance for 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh, as his brother, John Harbaugh, is coaching the Ravens. Twitter is calling the face-off #HarBowl.

The 49ers have not played in a Super Bowl since 1994.
