It’s 8 a.m. and 57º, headed to 54º. Today will be cloudy and rainy, so it’s a great day to cuddle up with a favorite book.

If you missed SantaCon yesterday, don’t worry. The Chronicle documented some of the hundreds of Santas running around town.

The LA Times reports on the lives of some of the victims and families of the Connecticut school shootings. The father of a 6 1/2-year-old “bright, creative and very loving” girl urged that the massacre “not be something that defines us, but something that inspires us to be better.”

If you’re looking for a laugh today, be sure to check out the Santa Skivvies Run in the Castro, where people will be dropping their pants to raise funds for the San Francisco AIDS Foundation.
