La Cocina recently hosted a pan de muerto workshop with the owners of the Chaac-Mool taco truck. Luis Vazquez and Maria de la Luz Vazquez talked to Mission Local about the traditions of Día de los Muertos.
If you’re feeling inspired, here’s the recipe for pan de muerto:
1 lb. white flour
1 cup sugar
Lemon and orange zest mixed with juice
1/8 stick of butter
2 eggs
1 tbs yeast (or two small packets)
2 cups milk
Bake at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes.
Enjoy!
