Weekend Crime Recap: Man Wakes Up to Missing Ear Lobe

Friday

A man who appeared to be in his 20s walked into a bank on Castro and 17th streets at 3:40 p.m. Friday and robbed the bank. He grabbed a deposit slip on a desk and wrote something on it and handed it to a teller.

The teller gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of currency and the suspect fled on foot.

No arrest was made.


A man was robbed on 17th and Mission streets at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The suspect, described as a man in his 30s, punched the victim two times and took his wallet. The suspect then fled on foot.

The victim suffered cuts to the nose and was treated on scene.


A man was assaulted on Friday at 10 p.m. at the 16th and Mission streets BART plaza.

The man was sleeping on the BART plaza and woke up to a noise behind him. He then realized that his ear lobe was missing. He went to San Francisco General Hospital for treatment.

Saturday

A 23-year-old woman ran across the street at 14th and Mission streets and was struck by a Chevy Cobalt at 1:52 a.m. Saturday.

She suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital.


A couple was sleeping in their bedroom in an apartment on 24th and Folsom streets when they heard noises from inside the apartment. A suspect, whose description wasn’t available, tried to open the locked bedroom door and announced himself.

The victims then heard the suspect leave through the front door. The victims then walked out of their room and noticed the stove had been turned on and a plate left on the stove was smoking.

The incident happened shortly before 1 a.m. Sunday.


Two men were walking at 19th and Mission streets when they were attacked by five suspects, described as men in their 20s. The victims suffered non-life threatening injuries from an unknown object or weapon.

The incident happened at 2 a.m. on Sunday.

The victims were taken to the hospital. No arrest was made.

Monday

A 26-year-old woman was robbed at 18th and Church streets Monday shortly after midnight.

Two men, who appeared to be about 27 years old, approached her and knocked her to the ground. The victim gave them her cell phone and some cash and the suspects fled on foot.


A man was standing at 21st and Valencia streets Monday, shortly before 1 a.m., when he was hit by a bottle. A group of seven or eight suspects started kicking the victim and went through his pockets.

The suspects took the man’s wallet and cash and fled on foot.

The man was bleeding from the head and was taken to the hospital.

    Do you have any more information on this young lady?? I came to her aid seconds after she was struck and stayed until medics came. Shes been on my mind ever since. Id really like to know if she has recovered and what her injuries are. At the moment i can only guess from what i seen. I just hope shes alright… Hospital wont tell me :(

    i guess if you live in or visit a fancy foodie/drug infested neighborhood, you’d better watch out and be cautious. it is the big, bad city, after all
