Three-quarters of San Francisco Unified School District schools showed a rise in test scores this year, according to new data released by the California Department of Education. Mission District schools were on the list of those that improved.

Some may attribute the San Francisco Giants’ historic comeback against the Cincinnati Reds to sheer grit. But the San Francisco Zoo believes a newborn orange and black monkey gave the Giants good luck.
