Mission students, parents and teachers walked from Parque Ninos Unidos earlier this week to Buena Vista Horace Mann for walk-to-school day, the Examiner reports:

Buena Vista Horace Mann was one of 55 San Francisco public schools participating in walk-to-school events.

District officials said nearly 8,500 students would be taking part in the events, which highlighted pedestrian safety and the City’s Safe Routes to School program.

Owner Siamak Akhavan (of 601 Dolores church reuse fame) plans to turn the building into four residential units – one loft unit to be located in the dome, which sounds awesome and we can’t wait to see the renderings.
