Weekend Crime Recap: Nine Robberies

Saturday

A man was robbed on Shotwell and 15th streets at 2:28 a.m. Saturday. A 35-year-old woman approached the victim and engaged him in conversation.

The victim walked away but another suspect, described as a man between the ages of 35 and 40, approached the victim and punched him several times. Both suspects took the victim’s cell phone and wallet and fled on foot.

The victim suffered a swollen eye.

A man was robbed on South Van Ness Avenue and 26th Street at 4 a.m. Saturday. A suspect, described as man between the ages of 28 and 29, approached the victim and made small talk.

The suspect demanded the victim’s property, punched him and took his cell phone. The victim gave the suspect money to try to get his phone back but the suspect fled on foot.

The victim suffered a bloody nose.

Sunday

A woman was robbed of her cell phone while sitting on a Muni bus Sunday evening at 6:30 p.m. Police said the woman was talking on her phone when a suspect, described as a man in his 20s or 30s, snatched the cell phone and fled.

The incident happened on South Van Ness Avenue and 24th Street.

A woman was robbed at gunpoint at 8:55 p.m. Sunday on Church and 20th streets. The victim was walking when two suspects, described as a man and a woman between the ages of 18 and 21, approached her from behind and stole her purse.

Both suspects fled the scene. The victim ran after them and spotted the woman looking through her purse. The victim struggled with the suspects to get her purse back, police said. The man then pointed a handgun at her.

The victim got her purse back and fled.

Three men were robbed at gunpoint and knifepoint at 10:15 p.m. Sunday on Dolores and 18th streets.

Two suspects, described as men in their early 20s, confronted the three men with a gun and knife and demanded their wallets. The victims complied and the suspects fled on foot, then got into a white van.

A man was at home on Capp and 21st streets when he heard noises. The victim, thinking it was his roommate, went to check and spotted a suspect, described as a man in his 30s, walking out the front door.

A man was jumped by a group of teenagers and robbed on 24th and Mission streets at 11:25 p.m. Sunday.

The suspects fled with the man’s wallet, cell phone and glasses. The victim suffered a cut to the forehead and was taken to the hospital.

Two suspects between the ages of 18 and 20 robbed a 29-year-old man on 15th Street and South Van Ness Avenue at 11:58 p.m. on Sunday.

The two men approached the victim and made small talk. One of the suspects then brandished a gun and demanded the victim’s property. The victim complied by handing over his keys, and the suspects fled on foot.

Monday

A woman was robbed on 23rd Street and Treat Avenue shortly before 1 a.m. on Monday. The victim was walking when a suspect, described as man in his 20s, approached her and snatched her purse from her shoulder.

The victim twisted her ankle in the process and the suspect fled with the purse.

A man was robbed at gunpoint at 4:40 a.m. Monday on 22nd and Capp streets.

Two men approached the victim and punched him, knocking him to the ground. One of the suspects brandished a gun while the other took the man’s cell phone and cash. Both suspects then fled on foot.

    and people protest the police? If the police weren’t wasting time dealing with stupid protesters and going to community meetings, they might be out there arresting some of these scum and getting all these guns off the street.

    More cops, fewer guns!

    Ok, Is SF that PC that we cant actually have a decent description of the perps? Are they white, black, green, purple?

    I mean seriously, Are you telling me out of 9 incidents that no one knows what they look like? Or am I just supposed to freak out and run if I am approached by 2 men or a woman and a man?

    Give us some real, honest idea of what these people look like please!!!!!

    How about go and protest over at the projects on Treat Street, as it seems that’s where all the violence is coming from.
